I'll be using this blog to post regular comments, hopefully daily, on my observations of the UN Climate Change Conference COP15 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The conference runs from December 7th through the 18th, though I'll be arriving on the 13th to attend just the second week of the conference (I miss President Obama's brief visit by a few days).
The conference was originally intended to forge an international agreement that would replace the Kyoto Protocol by setting legally binding restrictions on emissions of greenhouse gasses. The worlds leaders have already ruled out the possibility of binding reductions, but the hope remains that the conference will produce significant voluntary commitments by all parties and will lay the groundwork for a binding agreement.
